The Hermit Tarot Card: How to access your inner wisdom
You have a tremendous amount of wisdom embedded in you. It has been there for countless generations of lifetimes. It has been whispered and spoken to you by numerous spiritual sources. You are wise beyond measure. All that wisdom- it’s in you. The trick is to access it. The trick is to hear it and to recognize it. The trick is to not dismiss it as superficial fluff when you discover it.
To access it and to hear it, you must open yourself to it. This is hard to do when you are constantly confronted with daily worries and concerns. It helps to hear it and to appreciate it when you are not concerned with what everybody else is concerned with and what they want you to be concerned with. Get away from these daily concerns by finding quiet time. Find meditation time. Do yoga. Do whatever it takes to get out of your head and away from society’s expectations of you.
When you are not concerned with what society wants from you, you are within yourself where you can hear the authentic voices of your own wisdom. You will find that these voices have your best interest at heart and will benefit you greatly with the wisdom they offer. Once you have this wisdom, you can utilize it to live the best life you can be living. Find ways to hear these voices and feel the impulses of your intrinsic wisdom and be amazed at the positive changes come about in your life. You will become the person you were always meant to be. It pays to be flexible. If you can be flexible, you will be under a lot less stress. If you see only one way to do what it is you are trying to do or achieve what it is you are trying to achieve, or get to where it is you are trying to get to, you will likely find it frustrating and difficult if something happens to block you from that one way. It is always wise to have a Plan B. That way, if Plan A doesn’t pan out, you are not going to be stuck. You will already have another way in mind, and the transition to it should not be too stressful. Life will do that to you, you know. It will put up blocks and obstacles to your path that force you to try another way. These blocks and obstacles are not intended to make you give up, but rather to expand your mind to see the other possibilities. In life, we often have to make detours.
When does a dream begin? You may not be able to pinpoint the exact second, but there is that instant when you realize that there is something in life you want. There is something that you know you can attain. Right off, you may not be able say precisely how you will do it, but you know you can, and you will. This is the moment you glimpse a far off horizon and say, “That is where I’d like to be.” So you set off on the journey there. You don’t necessarily have a map that will guide you other than your instincts, but that is okay. That is enough.
The desire and the determination to get to this distant place of your dreams is all it takes to get you there. You just need to move. You just need to it. You just need to get going. This is how it is with your dreams. You have the impulse that this is a goal you wish to pursue. You see it in your mind’s eye as a destination to reach. You sense what it will feel like to to achieve it, and you begin the process to make it happen. This is the 3 of Wands within you. It’s true that we have ambitions and sometimes we develop tunnel vision in the pursuit of these ambitions. We know what we want, and we are going for it. We get so caught up in our aims that sometimes we neglect to notice the people on our path. As much as we want what we are pursuing, it pays to be mindful of these other people. They have ambitions and pursuits all their own. They don’t need to be bowled over by you. They don’t need to feel disrespected just because you think your ambitions are so important that nobody else matters.
Do your thing, but pay attention to those around you as you do. Show respect for those you encounter. Pay attention to the fact that these people are there. In the end, you will appreciate the fact that you achieved your goals with the dignity that you got there on your own merits without throwing anybody under the bus. — Jim Larsen
The Fool Tarot Card: Don’t Worry About Conventionality. Just Be You.
Sometimes you do have to wonder how many people would do the things you do. Who else but you would take the chances you take and the leaps of faith you take? Who else is willing to put themselves out there to try the kinds of things you do? Who else is willing to take the risks you take? Also, you have to ask, who else gets the unique rewards you do for being willing to do the things you do? How many people get to see the unique perspective on the world that you do for being willing and able to take the chances you take?
Because you are willing to not worry about conventionality for the sake of conventionality, you are granted a unique view on the world that so few ever get to see. And this is all because you are not nervous about being unconventional. Being willing to be unconventional opens windows to the world that rarely get opened. What is seen through these windows can change your outlook and perspective forever. You get to see that the world and the life you are living is not so predictable and set in stone. There are many variables to be explored. To be a Fool is to open yourself to many combinations of them.
Getting the most out of life and seeing a variety of perspectives really does come down to having the mindset of a Fool. Be open to new and different ideas and do not assume that when something is not exactly as you had hoped, that it is a failure. If you something is not as exactly as you had hoped for or envisioned it, it just means that there are more ways to see it than you originally realized. It doesn’t mean it’s wrong, and it doesn’t mean it’s broken. It just means there is more to it than you originally thought. And as a Fool, you are wide open to this. It does not bother you.
It does, in fact, excite you to know you are pleased with the notion that there is more to a situation and to the world, and even to the universe that you can explore and get to learn about. So even if a situation is not as you initially expected, you will still be excited about it. This is the Fool nature within you. This is the piece of you that wants to explore the many facets of being human and being alive. —Jim Larsen
