7 of Swords Tarot Card: Beware of Dishonest People

The 7 of Swords can come as a warning about deceit, trickery, and dishonesty. You may encounter such people who have only their own self-interests at heart, and will have no concern for your well being as they pursue them.

What prompts these people? Disharmony, for one. There is a feeling that one’s status quo cannot be met without manipulation, the feeling that faith alone and the interconnectedness with others are not enough to achieve balance. This is the feeling that one can only achieve harmony through a limited means, and one must manipulate these means into being. One sees, one imagines what they believe to be a perfect situation for their self, and this is a very narrowly focused view. It does not allow for much alterations or differentiations.

Because of this insistence that things must be this one certain way, one will go to any means to make sure that this is the outcome that comes about. When the outcome sought does not seem to be on the horizon, they redouble their efforts to achieve it. Often, this is done without concern for how this will impact others in the vicinity.

The 7 of Swords can represent someone who is at the center of their own universe. This may also be somebody who feels that the world owes them something. They think it is okay to take this or take that, or break this rule or break that rule, because doing so restores balance. This is somebody around whom you must be careful. Be careful today. Be careful of those you are dealing with. There could be deception and insincerity in the air. Do you get a vibe from somebody that they are lying to you? Do you get a vibe that they are using you? Do you get a vibe that you are being manipulated to serve somebody else’s purposes? Pay attention to this vibe, for it is warning you. It is warning you to take a step back from this person. Take a step back, or may be even run like hell in the other direction. Something isn’t on the up and up here. this person doesn’t care about you. They only care about what they can get from you.  Don’t let yourself be treated this way. 7 of Swords: Take Care of Yourself

Today, the 7 of swords tarot card gives you permission to push others away. It does seem, doesn’t it, that people are always making demands of our time? Do this. Do that. Do this for me. Do that for me. “Mom! I can’t find my shoe!” Dad! I need help!” Go to your job. Do what is expected of you in exchange for that paycheck. Maybe at lunch you can grab a few quiet minutes for yourself- if you’re lucky, but guess what? Here’s that annoying coworker demanding your attention and energy because she has a great story to tell about her all-important grand daughter.

Just for today, it’s okay to take a break from all this. You don’t have to be rude about it (or do you? But let people know you need some time to yourself. Yo don’t want to hear their voices or whatever it is they think you need to know. Why do so many people talk, anyway? Is it to serve you in some way? Usually, it’s because they have some need to be heard, whether you want or need to hear it or not. Some people will talk to you because you are handy to be talked to.
