4 of Cups: You Don’t Have to be stuck

4 of Cups Tarot Card

Four of Cups Tarot Card: Get your energy unstuck

The meaning of the 4 of Cups tarot card can include stuck energy. Think about it. When you are bored, you are stuck. You are not motivating yourself to get up and do something. You have accepted the idea that “there is nothing to do” and you are wallowing in it. Energy is not flowing in a situation like this. It is stuck.

The 4 of Cups tarot card can also illustrate what is like being around people with this attitude. It can really suck to be around people who have given up on motivating there own self. On your own, you could be perfectly fine having a slow-paced, easy going day. But there is that other person, whining and complaining about not having anything to do, and worse yet, doing mindless things to kill time- things like watching TV even though they have no interest in what is on, but that energy from the TV is filling the room and you are stuck with it.

You can’t really do a whole lot to get this other person motivated. The best you can do is look out for your self. Get your energy unstuck by finding something to do. Find a way to occupy your mind. See what you can do that is of value to your self or to somebody else. Being trapped in a paradigm of stuck energy can grind a day to a halt and maybe make you question why you are even here. Remind yourself of the value of your life by finding worthwhile things to fill your time with. Get up, move, do something. This is how you beat the 4 of Cups energy. —Jim Larsen

9 of Cups: Looking at the Bright Side

9 of Cups Tarot card

9 of Cups Tarot Card: The Bright Side of Things

There is a lot to be said for feeling good and looking at the bright side of things. When you are focused on what is good, more and more good just has a way of coming to you. Take a look at this guy in the 9 of Cups tarot card. That smile on his face and his overall sense of contentment tells you he is doing something right. Look at all his cups, neatly lined up behind him. These represent what he appreciates and loves about life. Not one of them is knocked over, and not one of them is leaking. His heart is in a good place, and because of this, more good things will come to him. His heart is wide open to the flow of positive energy that will keep him content.

That is one of the lessons of the 9 of Cups tarot card. The 9 of Cups tarot card reminds us that there is plenty of good things in our lives. Even when we go through difficult times, there are still plenty of good things to focus on, and if we are able to focus on these good things, life will just jeep getting better.

Knight of Wands: Proving It’s Not Impossible

Knight of Wands tarot Card

Knight of Wands Tarot Card: What are you doing with your brilliant ideas?

Everybody has a brilliant idea now and then, just as everybody gets inspired. The difference though, between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people is that successful people take their brilliant ideas and inspirations and do something with them. These people embody the Knight of Wands.

The Knight of Wands refuses to be passive when they receive an inspiration. They know that to act on inspiration is to bring something totally cool into the world. So many people do this- they have an idea and say, “Wouldn’t it be cool if….” For example, who hasn’t had an idea for a good movie. Who hasn’t said, “You know what a good movie would be…” And then they detail what they think a good movie would be, and that’s as far as it goes.

A true Knight of Wands, however, will say, “You know what a good movie would be…” And then they will write a script and actually make that movie. This is just one example. Knights of Wands have a drive to see their inspirations become reality. They have a need to see it become real. When you find yourself inspired, thinking of what a really great idea is, act on it. Refuse to be passive.

Even if it seems impossible, don’t give up on it. Find the way to make it happen. The way is there. Let the Knight of Wands within you make a reality of it. –Jim Larsen

The Sun: Seeing The Light

The Sun

The Sun Tarot Card: Getting through the darkness to the light

You may find that you have been having a rough time for an extended period of time. You may go along, day by day, week by week, maybe even month by month or more where you just can’t seem to find the happiness you know you deserve. It’s something we all go through for some length of time or other; it’s part of what it means to be human.

So, you go along as if in a dark, lightless tunnel hoping for some shred of light to give you some hope. And then you start to see it. There is a light shining through up ahead, and you know as soon as you get there, you will shed the sadness and heaviness that has been weighing you down. This is the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. This is the Sun. Even though, you have not reached it yet, you know it is there and that you are getting closer to it. This fills you with hope as you know life will get better soon.

With that in mind, you quicken your pace to get to that light sooner. The closer you get to it, the more energized you become. By the time you reach the light, you feel great. Life becomes fulfilling and you have cause to celebrate.

The lesson here is that when times are tough, keep your eyes open and looking forward, because before long you will see that sliver of Sun peeking through. Keep moving towards it. You will reach it before too long, and then you can bask in it and the time in the darkness will soon become a weird forgettable memory. Keep your thoughts on the Sun and go towards it. This is to live the good life no matter what. –Jim Larsen

Knight of Swords: Not All Bad. Not All Good.

Knight of Swords tarot card

Knight of Swords Tarot Card: In the negative sense, kind of an asshole.

A person possessing the Knight of Swords personality type, while having many fine qualities, can also be a real asshole sometimes; pardon my language. This is the Knight of Swords in his/her negative aspect. This is somebody who doesn’t think before they speak. They blurt out what is on their mind without consideration of how people will feel when they hear it. They don’t employ compassion or empathy in their dealings with others, and certainly not in their communications with them. Their reactions are knee-jerk, and they don’t examine the big picture. They assume a situation is such and such a way without taking into consideration any other possibilities.

Encounters with a Knight of Swords in their negative aspect can leave you feeling drained. You may feel as though you have just absorbed a blob of lightless darkness. It may seem as though you were stabbed in your solar-plexus and injected with karmic poison. In their negative aspect, this is how the Knight of Swords operates. They need everything to be their way, and will go out of their way to avoid deviations from their own way. If they have to step on you to avoid a deviation from what they want and expect, then expect to get stepped on.

There are of course, many good qualities to a person with the Knight of Swords personality type. They will stand up for you and go to bat for you when they believe in you, but they will also appear to not care about you at all if they want something and the easiest way to get it is to disrespect you. When dealing with the disrespect of a negative Knight of Swords, maintain your own dignity. Ponder how unfortunate it is for them to have to have to treat other people in such a way just to feel anything at all about their self.

The Magician: Do you Selflessly Manifest?

Voyager Tarot Magician

The Magician Tarot Card: Be a selfless manifester

The Magician of Tarot is a manifester, and given the fact that each archetype of tarot represents a piece of who we all are, then we ourselves are manifesters by default. This means, we have the ability to draw from the heavens what we need in our lives in order to enhance said lives. With that in mind, how about taking into consideration what is the best for the people we know?

Why not be selfless manifesters and hope and wish for the best for others? Why not wish and hope the best for others as strongly as we would wish for the best for ourselves? Let’s tap into the Magician piece of ourselves and boost and build up those around us who could honestly use a boost. It costs nothing, and doesn’t detract from our own goals. Hope for the best or others, wish them the best, and be glad for them when good things come there way. The Magician piece of every one of us has the ability to do this, so why not? — Jim Larsen

Look at this figure in the 2 of Pentacles tarot card. He needs to remain vigilant to keep those pentacles he is juggling in motion. If he lets one or the other drop, it could be disastrous for him. 10 of Wands: Shake Off Yesterday’s Energy

10 of Wands Tarot Card

10 of Wands Tarot Card: Start each day anew

The 10 of Wands tarot card my be urging you to not carry the weight of yesterday on your back. Shake it off and start the new day. Give each new day a chance to be great. That could very well be the message the 10 of Wands has for you.

You may have had a rough day. We all do sometimes. Let it go when you do. Let a bad day be just that- a day. It doesn’t have to be a bad week or month. It might not even have to be a day. Maybe a bad hour is just a bad hour. Do your best to not carry the burden of a rough time with you. It is easy to focus our thoughts on what we didn’t like about a time or a situation. It is easy to hold onto the bad feelings and consider how unfair they were. Doing this though, is not conducive to our happiness. Accepting that we will, from time to time, have those times that trouble us, and then letting them go is much more conducive to our overall well being.

Keep this in mind the next time things don’t appear to be going your way. The 10 of Wands encourages you to let go, shake it off, and move on. — Jim Larsen
