Chariot: When a Wheel is Lost

The Chariot Tarot Card

Staying Motivated

Sometimes it can feel like your chariot has lost a wheel. You know what we want to do and what you want to accomplish, but somehow can’t seem to motivate yourself to do it. Although we can visualize the steps needed to take in order to get what we want, we are having difficulty getting up and getting moving. This is when our chariot has lost a wheel.

We need to put that wheel back on so we can get busy. Great accomplishments don’t just happen all on their own. No. They are the result of effort- the effort we put into it. We need to find the motivation for that effort. Remind yourself that if you don’t find that motivation, all you are is somebody who had dreams, but not the wherewithal to make those dreams come true. Is that really how you want to be thought of?

Or would you rather project the image of somebody who had a vision of what they could accomplish without letting anything stop them? There is so much more to be said about somebody who accomplishes their dreams than there is about somebody who dreams without action, disallowing their dreams to become reality. Ultimately, it is your choice how you want people to think of you.

Be that person- the accomplisher, not the procrastinator. Secure all the wheels on your chariot, and accomplish your dreams. –Jim Larsen

10 of Swords: Your Words Can Stab Like Daggers

Painful Words

The 10 of Swords tarot card reminds us that the words we use can be as sharp as daggers when you are careless with them or use them to inflict damage. Are you throwing words at people, trying to hurt them? Are you unaware that you are doing this? Because sometimes, intentionally or not, that is what you are doing. When you are careless with your words, speaking them to somebody without being mindful of a difficult time they are going through or triggering something within them that you could not have known about. Be mindful of this. Take care to handle these daggers gently as you hand them to somebody.

Verbal Attacks

These word daggers represented by the 10 of swords tarot card become exceptionally sharp when they are thrown intentionally. Harsh words can stab into a person unlike anything else. They can cause injury that may never heal. Be careful how you give somebody criticism. Do so in a way that does not inflict mortal damage. This is a powerful reminder from the 10 of swords tarot card.

The Devil Tarot Card: Past the Darkness to the Light

The Devil Tarot Card

The Devil as pain we don’t want to experience again

The Devil tarot card may represent a question you are simply afraid to seek an answer to. Perhaps this is an issue you have experienced before and it was painful to you. You are now faced with a similar situation where you fear it may go in the direction of pain again, but at the same time, it could easily go in the direction of positivity and happiness.

Looking at this situation, you are conditioned to expect the negative outcome. This is fear and worry. It is not a dark shadow void of light. This is a shadow in its last seconds of darkness before the light overtakes it. Instead of fearfully retreating from it, barrel through it. Let it surprise you. By retreating you deny yourself the opportunity to prosper from the positive outcome. By facing this fear you get through the shadow.

Never stay stuck in darkness

When faced with the fear that a situation will go in a negative direction, visualize the light. Instead of letting the fear slow you down, let the optimism of the light propel you. Use the light as fuel to drive you.

In this way you will succeed. In this way, you will excel.

By accepting fear, you will always stay stuck and stagnate. In life, we are meant to move forward. Always move towards the light. Never stay stuck in the darkness, the shadow. Don’t let fear rule you. Don’t let fear dictate your growth. — Jim Larsen

Judgment Tarot Card: The Assessment is Complete

Judgment Tarot Card

Judgment as Evaluation

The judgment card can be like a cosmic command of “Put your pencils down and hand in your test.” How did you do? Did you learn the lessons that circumstances and challenges were designed to teach you? Or do you need another chance to learn them and integrate them into who you are? The time has come to assess where you are, what your standings are, what you accomplished, what you need to work on, and what comes next. This is not a harsh judgment. It is an evaluation of what you have accomplished on your personal path to enlightenment.

Judgment offers the opportunity to grow

If the assessment represented by the Judgment card indicates you have something to work on, remember, you have the opportunity to grow. You have the chance to take that next step. Are you taking it? Are you taking full advantage of the resources at your disposal? You have complete free will. Are you using your free will for the high road or the low? Are you using it to pursue highest and greatest good, or are you letting opportunities slip through your hands? Examine your circumstances. Appreciate the opportunities before you. Make the most of them. Aim high. Hear the call, then answer the call.

How do you know your assessment?

With Judgment representing an assessment, how do you know what your assessment is? You do this by considering where you want to be as contrasted by where you are. Have you achieved what you set to achieve? Are you respected as you feel you should be respected? Are you doing the things you would like to be doing? Do you feel good about who you are and how you relate to your environment and to others? If so, you can confidently say you have passed the assessment offered by the Judgment archetype. If something here is lacking, then there is more to work on. Work on it until it feels right to you. — Jim Larsen
