The Fool: No Obstacle Can Stop Him

View Post

The Fool Tarot Card
Fool Tarot Card

The Fool gains strength through obstacles.

The Fool is on a journey and will find his way. He has explorations to make and will never stop. Hey may rest, but he will continue on his way once this rest has been accomplished. Obstacles and hindrances will present themselves to him, but he will find a way through, around, over, or under them. The Fool has a destiny to fulfill, and as such, he views any obstacle or hindrance he is presented with as an opportunity to amass strength and wisdom as he finds his way to the other side of them.

Nothing the Fool is presented with is intended to stop him, but rather to test his dedication to the journey and his ability to forge his way ahead. This journey that the Fool is on is not a journey of a single lifetime, but rather an accumulation of journeys throughout his spiritual/karmic existence. Therefore, he has endured uncountable obstacles and the necessity of getting past them is encoded in his karmic DNA.

Each lifetime for the Fool brings its own destinations to enhance the spirit. Each journey of each lifetime is a stretch of the total journey that takes the Fool to Grand Enlightenment. Even then, the journey does not end. As a grandly enlightened spirit, new journeys of understanding open up that are beyond the comprehension of any logical, earth-bound mind. As earthly beings, we are only given access to so much information. This is not to keep us in the dark, but to keep us focused on what we need to focus on for our given lifetime. To be given access to more than that would give way to unnecessary distractions as we would tend to project our attention to the fascination of what is far beyond the scope of current concerns.

We speculate the grand meaning of our karmic existence to a degree already. We do what we can to imagine our lives in a much greater context than what we experience earthly. To have access to validation of the ultimate grand scheme of our life, however, would cause us to live in the future without first catching up to it. This would have the unfortunate effect of not looking for the lessons our lifetime journeys are designed to teach us, thus depriving us of the growth opportunities that actually lead us to that Grand Enlightenment we are working towards.

The Fool, in his ultimate wisdom, accepts the journey ahead of him, not knowing where it will take him, but with faith that it will take him where he needs to be. The Fool knows, that since he is destined to be somewhere, he will get there. Obstacles will not stop him. He knows that in the overcoming of obstacles, strength, wisdom, and strength will be gained. This is true of grand karmic journeys as well as mundane earthly journeys. — Jim Larsen

Tarot Combinations: Hanged Man and 2 of Wands

Hanged Man and 2 of Wands: Looking for that Ah-Ha! Moment

Seeing things from other perspectives puts the whole world in your hands, as represented in the Hanged Man and 2 of Wands tarot combination. This is what you must thrive to do when seeking changes in your life- you, must learn to see the world you live in and the situations you are dealing with from other perspectives. You may struggle with certain aspects of your life and search for change. You know that this change will come from seeing things from just the right angle. But so far, you just haven’t found the right one yet. That does not mean it is not there, s do not give up on the endeavor of finding it.

As you explore different angles on the situation, you will eventually have the Ah-Ha! moment you are looking for as you see exactly how things fit together. What you find can not be seen from the standard, straight forward view of the situation. No, this is as it is seen from some odd angle that it had never occurred to you to look from before.

It could very well be that you just happened to see it from this angle by accident. That happens. A mishap of some kind exposes an aspect that had remained hidden until now. When this happens, appreciate the synchronicities that led to this discovery and utilize it for your own betterment. When you do this, you are not bound by conventionality, but rather innovation.

This makes you powerful. You must recognize these discoveries for what they are when you find them, and not dismiss them because you had not seen them before. Even if they only seem like a vague possibility, be willing and able to experiment and innovate with what you have found to see how they work for you.

This is what puts the world in your hands and gives you the power to create something new. With the Hanged Man and 2 of Wands, you will find those Ah-Ha moments that lead to innovation. –Jim Larsen

The Tower Tarot Card

The Tower Tarot Card: Getting on Track

Those lightning bolts that instigate the crumbling of our false beliefs in the Tower card are absolutely necessary. With nothing to open our eyes to the reality that what we are living is far from our best interest, we will continue down paths that take us nowhere we need to be, and far from where we need to be.  Therefore, these lightning bolts are essential to pushing us back onto the path we most need to be on.

THE HERMIT: QUIET YOUR MIND CHATTER

The Hermit Tarot Card- Fools Path Tarot by Jim Larsen

The Hermit Tarot Card: Find The Silence

Answers to life’s most pressing mysteries are found in undisturbed silence. To find these answers, it is advantageous to become hermit. It can be that this silence can be disturbed by the chatter in one’s very own mind. Mind chatter can be deafening. It is imperative that one gets through the mind chatter to hear the important and useful voices. To do this, sit in meditation long enough for the chatter to die down and only the useful voices remain.

The useful voices will be patient and wait for the chaos to subside so they can be heard. It is up to the individual, however, to make the effort to sit still and sit quietly to allow this point to be reached. Once it is reached, the keys to enlightenment are found. -Jim Larsen

The Tower: Knock it Down!

The Tower Tarot Card
The Tower Tarot Card

The Tower Tarot Card: Enduring pain for a better life

The Tower tarot card may remind you that it is time to make big changes. To make these changes, you must knock down the metaphorical tower that your truth is imprisoned in. These changes may be daunting. They may be frightening. You may need to summon a great amount of courage to bring them about. You know though, that these changes are for your ultimate best good, so they are worth the pain you must endure to achieve them. The sooner you knock over this tower of yours though, the sooner you can get going on the new paradigm that awaits after it. Keep in mind, the pain will only be temporary. It will not be a permanent part of you. Once you are on the other side of this tower, a whole new existence of truth and fulfillment await you. Knock the tower down, and get through to it! — Jim Larsen

The Hanged Man: Upsetting the Elite

The Hanged Man Tarot Card
The Hanged Man Tarot Card

As The Hanged Man you are able to see the things that nobody else can see. This makes you a valuable commodity. It also makes you feared. As you see from these other angles and these other perspectives, you are poised to point out the details that the power elite do not want being noticed. By pointing these out, you become an instigator of change.

The power elite does not want this change to happen, for as it happens, their power will be diminished, maybe rendered obsolete. They will fight this. If they cannot come right out and stop you, they will endeavor to delegitimize you. They may do this with full force and will not be satisfied until you are rendered untrusted and without credibility or merit. There are many ways to see anything or any situation. The power elite though, wants to limit what can be seen. As the Hanged Man, you are considered an enemy for showing another way.

Do not be afraid to step into the full power of your Hanged Man quality. Keep showing what you see and telling what you know. Trust that your messages are important. Let the words of Kris Kristofferson in his song, To Beat The Devil ring true for you: “Because I don’t believe that no one wants to know…”

Death: Swimming Through The Abyss

Death Tarot Card

Tarot Death Card: A time of reconfiguring and recalculating

When pondering the Death card of tarot, think of it as the abyss between two lives. Sometimes this is literal. Sometimes this is figurative. It is a time of reconfiguring and recalculating. It is when you cannot return to the place you left behind, and where you are going is not yet in view. Death is a comatose state you wake up from to discover the rules have changed and you must now endeavor to figure them out all over again.

Death is acceptance. It is the acceptance of that which you cannot change so that you are free of the burden of holding onto what does not serve you. This frees you from unnecessary stresses over what doesn’t matter and the expenditure of energy of trying to achieve the unachievable.

Consider how Death plays a part in your own life. Does life seem confusing because the rules have changed, even if only in some small way in some aspect of your life? If so, accept this death of the old and birth of the new as part of the natural cycle of living. It has been happening over and over again since beyond memory. You, in your way, are experiencing it just as so many other people have and are. Just know it will pass. You will adjust to whatever this “new” is and continue living. — Jim Larsen

Knight of Cups: Tragically Loving

Knight of Cups Tarot Card

Knight of Cups Tarot Card: So much to give

Think of a Knight of Cups as somebody who has a lot of love to give, but maybe they do not necessarily know how to express it. They have put their intentions and feelings out there for others before, and it was not received as well as they had hoped. Now they have doubts and insecurities about the possibilities of connections and relationships.

They may learn to express their love as best they can through subtle actions to positively effect and benefit those they love and care about more so than directly pushing and asserting their feelings onto somebody. They may find that they receive the satisfaction of expressing their love in this manner in a greater way than they would being pushy and intrusive about it.

A Knight of Cups may learn about the matters of the heart through an often-painful ordeal of trial and error. Eventually though, they do learn and discover that to truly love somebody may not look anything like what they thought love would look like. They may have imagined love to be like they see portrayed by Hollywood, and endeavor of pursuit and capture, where the love and admiration of that special somebody is a prize to be won. In reality though, it is a heart-felt desire to share in and participate in the perfection of somebody they care about’s life.

Such is often the fate of a Knight of Cups. They feel so much. They try to express what they feel. Their hopes are not always met and they learn to live with disappointment. Through it though, they remain optimistic and continue to care. –– Jim Larsen

Temperance: Why So Sad?

Temperance Tarot card
Temperance Tarot card

The Temperance Tarot Card: Why We Feel the Way We Do

When you think of Temperance card of tarot, the idea that a variety of elements are combing together to create a single effect may come to mind. The question then becomes, how exactly did any particular combination of elements come to together to create any particular outcome?

Consider for example how you feel during any given time period. Feeling good? Feeling great? Feeling sad? Maybe you are just not quite feeling right. You just feel off somehow and are trying to figure out why. There are a number of factors that may be contributing to this. The weather, for one. If it is sunny and nice, you might feel one way. However, if it is damp and rainy you might feel another. Another is, how did you sleep last night? If you slept well, you will feel one way. If you slept poorly, you will feel another way. Another factor is, what have you eaten lately? Something nourishing that uplifts you, or something junky that brings you down? What emotional or physical concerns are at play? Any combination of these factors can have an impact on how you are feeling, and the change of one can have an impact on you overall.

Our feelings can at times be easy to articulate. Good news or bad news can have a measurable impact. A change in circumstances can as well. However, during those times when we simply cannot articulate our feelings, it can be worthwhile to consider how Temperance is at play and examine the various factors have combined to create the whole of how we are at that moment. — Jim Larsen
