Have you been thinking too much lately? Has life simply been one thing after another that demands your attention, or causes your thoughts to kick into overdrive with such things as “I can’t wait until this is all over” or “What is wrong with these people?!?” This is normal enough, and we all do it, and eventually in the midst of it we realize, “Wow, I’m feeling stressed out.” This maybe the case today. You may have hit that point where you realize the situation is unchangeable, but your attitude towards it certainly is. Do your best to turn it around.

Instead of feeling attacked by the situation, look at the reality that it will not go on forever. See the end point of it. Remind yourself it will be over eventually. What else can you put your thoughts on? What hobbies, dreams, and ambitions can you visualize and daydream about to make the time better for you?

You really do need to give your brain a rest. Too much negative thoughts about any situation will only beget more and more to find fault with. Before you know it, you are having a breakdown. Why put yourself through that? The message of the 4 of Swords for today is to just relax. Don’t get lost in the negative. Give yourself a break from what is bothering you and find something positive to look forward to. Give it a try. It will make you feel better.

Take note, today, of just how sharp and defined your thoughts are. They are right on track. Where are all these good ideas coming from? You might wonder. They are coming from within. Many have been stored within you for countless years just waiting for you to reach a point where you are not so stuck in your head that they can finally come to the surface to be recognized.

That will happen- ideas get trapped inside somewhere. They are held prisoner by a mind and an ego that is so sure it has all the answers and all that it needs that it does not allow for anything else to be noticed. When this happens, so many ideas go shoved aside and go unnoticed and unappreciated. How can they compete with an ego that is so sure of itself? The ego has a mind of its own, and when that mind is made up, it is very hard to get it to accept anything else.

With luck though, the mind finally relaxes and allows for other concepts to come to the forefront. When this happens, these ideas that have been locked away come to the forefront and you are said to be “inspired.” Okay, for today, take these inspirations and do something good with them. Simple Wisdom: There is no ego involved with your communications with Spirit

True spirituality is one on one communication between spirit and human. It does not need validation.

That it is in your heart is the only thing that matters. When communicating with spirit, when praying, when showing gratitude to be divine, it need not be said out loud.

It certainly need not be said out loud in the presence of others to hear only serves your own ego. If it is in your heart, it is felt. Be leery of those who speak boastfully of their spiritual ideas. True spirituality, true connection to the divine has no attachment to the ego.

True spirituality is one on one communication between spirit and human. It does not need validation. It does not need attention. Spirit cares only with your true intentions, and has no need or interest in your ego.

Simple Wisdom: Get out of your protective shell. Go beyond.

Simple Wisdom: Allow your true light to shine

We all have our protective outer shells. This is our default setting, what we revert to when we can think of no better words or actions to speak or perform. These are represented by the same patterns we repeat over and over, and often over again. These are represented by the same verbal crutches and the same jokes we always go back to.

This is stagnation and redundancy. We must strive to get past this shell of protectiveness to the truth of our self just beneath it. Our mind will assume that what is real and true about ourselves, our authentic selves, is vulnerable, fragile, and in need of protection. So it sets up these barriers to protect it. The problem becomes that these barriers became way too solid, impenetrable. Now our true self is walled in.

It is a light that needs to shine, not just shine for its own sake, but to shine out to the world and be seen, be felt. We must soften this protective barrier by focusing inward to our truth and authenticity.

Don’t pay heed to the outer shell. Pay heed to the light it encases. Focus on this light. Acknowledge this light. Enhance this light. In doing so, it will grow stronger, shine brighter. By doing so it will cause the outer shell to crack and to crumble.

Go beyond your first thoughts on a matter. Go beyond the normal thing you always do in a situation. By doing so, your light shines. Let your light shine.
