8 of Swords: The Obstacles are Behind You

8 of Swords Tarot Card: Analyzing Situations

What is the 8 of Swords tarot card all about? Among other things, it is about realizing that obstacles are behind us. We got past them. What happens is, we get conditioned by disappointment and hard times so much sometimes that we come to expect them and assume that they are always going to be a part of our lives. We don’t always realize that we have gotten past the hard times. We are so conditioned to react to them that we think they are always there.

We need to train ourselves to analyze our situations and notice when they have changed and shifted to the better. We need to notice when the difficult times are behind us. If we don’t do this, we stay stuck and stagnant in this energy of non-growth, although it is based on an untruth. This untruth is based on the perception that there is an obstacle in the way. But there is no obstacle in our way. There used to be, but we have moved past it. It is behind us now. So what is blocking us now is only just a mirage. Have the courage to charge towards this block with the faith that it will disappear, because it will- because it’s not real. There is nothing there. Keep some faith in that. — Jim Larsen

5 of Swords Tarot Cards: Letting Go of Grudges

What is the 5 of Swords tarot card all about? Among other things, it is about the relief you feel when you finally let go of a grudge or of anger. It is that sense of relief you get when you decide that so much of what you have been obsessed with just doesn’t matter. It is to let go of what is too much extra on your mind so that you are free of the unnecessary weight you have been hanging onto in the form of attitudes, anger, grudges, and the need to be right. It is to realize that life will be better once you let all that crap go.

Letting that go is the initiation of a healing process. It is the shedding of weight and to grant an amnesty of forgiveness. There does not need to be a sense of winners or losers here. There is only a sense of all this we have been holding onto just doesn’t matter. This is to admit that your viewpoints don’t need to invalidate another’s. This is to call a truce. and to have your eyes opened. The 5 of Swords tarot card is about getting over it and moving on. — Jim Larsen

Simple Wisdom: Psychic Ability

Simple Wisdom: See into the truth

Many people consider “psychic ability” as an ability to know what will happen. For some though, it is the ability to know what is beyond the veils and masks of protective covering we humans put up to shield our authentic selves. Why put up these shields? Because without them, our truth is known. An exposed truth is a vulnerable truth. It is subjected to judgment and ridicule of others. Our true selves known, where can we hide? This is the bottom of who we are.

This can be scary as hell for anybody. So we cover this part of ourselves out of protection. Psychic ability is the ability to see past these protective coverings in ourselves and in others to see the hidden truth. Based on this hidden truth, what is the nature of life in the moment? How do we see this moment unfolding into the next and next and next? Psychic ability is the ability to take what we see of truth and tell a story with it as the impetus.

That’s all life really is, just a story. From what starting point will you tell yours? Who are the major characters? The mini? Who are the heroes, the villains, the seized opportunities and the missed? This is the nature of life and the stories we tell about it. To see into the truth of this story is to have true psychic ability.

Develop your psychic ability by telling stories about somebody’s life. Choose a person. Anybody. Observe what you can observe about them. It may be a total stranger, somebody you have never met. Maybe you observe them ordering coffee. This is all you have to go by, that and the way they are dressed. How long have they been drinking coffee? Are they regulars at this coffee shop, or transient just making a stop? Figure it out. Tell the story. Based on this, tell the story of their life that brought them into your awareness right now in the moment. Somewhere in what you conjure about this person, a truth may very well be revealed. This practice develops psychic ability. — Jim Larsen

The Moon Tarot Card: Searching for Answers

What does the Moon tarot card mean? Among other meanings, the Moon card represent those moments when something just doesn’t make sense. Your mind is telling you something, but your heart doesn’t feel good about it. You are searching for an answer, but deep down you know you don’t have all the information about it to be informed enough about it and you are left with a feeling of uncertainty.

Environmental factors may also be at play causing you anxious feelings. Maybe you woke up in the middle of the night with something on your mind and it is causing you distress and extremely anxious feelings, maybe even panic. Times like that are not the best times to make any kind of decisions. During times like this, you have to tell yourself that the moon is acting on you and you need to get some sleep before making any kind of decision or commitment.

The Moon can be a powerful influence on our minds. It can pull us to some dark places. The moon can pull us to where our shadows dominate. The moon can pull us to our shadow garden and try to convince us that what is growing there is the real truth.

If we can recognize when the moon is acting strongly on us, we can cater our reactions accordingly. If we hastily react to an impulse or a situation while the moon is acting on us, we may regret our decision. If we react to our shadows or our shadow gardens and not to what is in the sun and is our truth, we will probably make a bad decision and make the situation worse for ourselves. So, before acting on a situation while the moon is acting on you, let the moon fade away and let the true light shine so you can see clearly what you are dealing with. –Jim Larsen
