8 of Swords: The Obstacles are Behind You

8 of Swords Tarot Card

8 of Swords Tarot Card: Analyzing Situations

What is the 8 of Swords tarot card all about? Among other things, it is about realizing that obstacles are behind us. We got past them. What happens is, we get conditioned by disappointment and hard times so much sometimes that we come to expect them and assume that they are always going to be a part of our lives. We don’t always realize that we have gotten past the hard times. We are so conditioned to react to them that we think they are always there.

We need to train ourselves to analyze our situations and notice when they have changed and shifted to the better. We need to notice when the difficult times are behind us. If we don’t do this, we stay stuck and stagnant in this energy of non-growth, although it is based on an untruth. This untruth is based on the perception that there is an obstacle in the way. But there is no obstacle in our way. There used to be, but we have moved past it. It is behind us now. So what is blocking us now is only just a mirage. Have the courage to charge towards this block with the faith that it will disappear, because it will- because it’s not real. There is nothing there. Keep some faith in that. — Jim Larsen

8 of Swords: Did it Ever Matter?

Fools Path Tarot 8 of Speculation (Swords)

8 of Swords Tarot Card: Realizing that it doesn’t matter

The 8 of Swords is that moment when you realize that those things you were worrying and fussing about don’t matter. If it ever did matter, if there ever was a moment when the situation was causing you stress, it has passed. This is that feeling of relief that what was bothering you or slowing you down is behind you. When we are stressing out about something, we do not always acting to our optimum functionality. The worry and the stress consume our attention and energy so we do not have all the energy we could have to put towards more positive and productive pursuits.

The thing to do is to examine the situation when we are worried or we are stressed out and ascertain the validity of it. Ask yourself, is this really worth being stressed out about? Do I really need to worry so much about it? If you discover that it really is not that important, let it go and free up some energy for more important things. If it honestly is worth being stressed out about and you honestly do need to worry about it, get focused on it. Examine it from all angles and figure out what to do about it so it is not sucking too much of the life force out of you. Find solutions. Find answers. Find a way. Get it taken care of. Do it.

Once done, you are free to move forward. Enjoy the feeling of letting go of stress and being free of it. Notice that it is behind you. This is the 8 of swords tarot card. — Jim Larsen

8 of Swords: The Path Ahead Is Open

8 of Swords Tarot Card: See what is in front of you

It is the 8 of swords piece of us that make us feel stuck. This is logical because sometimes we are stuck. Haven’t you ever been in a situation where you want to move forward, but somehow, some way, you just can’t seem to because there are things blocking you and making it seemingly difficult to? It is normal to have these times, so when they happen in your life, don’t feel like there is something wrong.

The thing to keep in mind though is, just because you are feeling it and experiencing it now, it doesn’t mean it will last forever. When we feel stuck, it is normal to get into the mindset of stuckness. We may get so used to the idea that we cannot move forward that we forget that things can change. We forget we ourselves have to power to make the changes we want. We start to think that the way things are is the only way things can be, and so we accept our limitations and stay in one place. What we truly need to realize though, is that situations change. As they are one moment, they may not be the next.

Where conditions may have been such that we were stuck one minute, the path ahead may clear the next. This can be from our own ideas, mindsets, and attitudes. It may also be from the literal clearing away of obstacles in front of us. The important thing to remember here, is that we must be able to see the changes as they occur. Do not get so stuck in one idea that things are in your way that you don’t realize when you move beyond your obstacles and they are now behind you. Keep your eyes open See what is in front of you. Look back and see what is behind you. Notice how far you have come? Let nothing slow you down. This is the piece of you that is the 8 of Swords. It encourages you to take time to examine your circumstances and reassess when you feel stuck, because maybe you’re not stuck anymore but you just haven’t figured that out yet. — Jim Larsen

8 of Swords: Addicted to Worry

8 of Swords Tarot Card: Living beyond the struggles

8 of Speculation- Fool’s Path Tarot

Sometimes we get so used to struggling and trying to figure out how to get past difficult situations and circumstances that we forget to realize when they are behind us. It almost becomes an addiction- this worrying about things. Worry, doubt, and fear all become so engrained in our consciousness that we don’t know who we are without them. This is unfortunate. This keeps us stuck. This keeps us with blinders on that don’t allow us to see how open and clear the path ahead is. It is of great benefit to get past this. It is of great benefit to stop, pause, and take inventory of our circumstances every so often. Take a look at where you are, and how you got there. What obstacles did you overcome?  Are there really anymore ahead of you? Be honest with yourself. Are there really any problems ahead. If not, relax. Don’t spend all your time in worry when there is nothing to worry about. This will slow you down more than anything else will. This is the lesson of the 8 of swords today- notice how open everything is in front of you and keep on keeping on.

8 of Swords Tarot Card: Feeling stuck is a mindset

Feeling stuck? Feeling stagnant? Feeling like you can’t move forward? Feeling like you’ve done all you can do, and there is just nothing more to do in whatever the particular situation may be? It’s normal. We all feel that way sometimes. Probably though, this feeling is not intrinsic to anything actual. Chances are, you absolutely can move forward, but just don’t see that.

It is a mindset that got you to where you are where you feel this way, so to get past this block and move forward, change your mindset. Instead of a mindset of, “I can’t go forward,” change it to, “There is a way to move forward and I need to just see it.”  Now you are not being a defeatist.  Now you are being positive, and with a positive attitude, things tend to happen much more easily. So, whatever it is that has you feeling stuck, realize that it is all in your head. Realize that the road ahead is open. Realize that the problems are behind you.

8 of Swords Tarot Card? You Have Survived the Worst of It

The 8 of Swords tarot card wants to know, are you still worried? Why? Realize this- the worst is behind you. You’ve survived the hardships, and things are better now. Breathe in deep and realize that the road ahead is way smoother than the road behind you.

Sure, when you have been through some rough times, it is only natural to still feel slight pangs of anxiety, but do realize this- those pangs are only memories. They are holdovers from what you have been through, not harbingers of what is to come.

Just for today, realize that whatever it is to you, it gets easier and it gets better from this point forward. Open your eyes to this fact. This is the message today from the 8 of swords.
