2 of Swords: Have you Lowered your Shields?

2 of Swords

2 of Swords Tarot Card: Lower Your Shields

Here is one way to think of the 2 of Swords tarot card- there is something blocking you. Something is shielding your heart that may have once been important, because it kept you from pain that was flying at you in the moment, but somehow, you never lowered those shields when the pain stopped coming. This is unfortunate because on account of those unnecessary shields, you deny yourself many good vibrations and much love that you could and should be receiving. You need to train yourself to recognize when the danger has passed and it is safe again. Then, you can lower your shields so that good energy can get in again.

2 of Swords: Are You Being Wishy-Washy?

2 of Swords Tarot Card

2 of Swords Tarot Card: Make Up Your Mind

Sometimes, you have to just make up your mind. You have to commit to one thing or the other. It does no good to sit on the fence being wish-washy. Commit to decision, and stick with it! If somebody asks you a question that they need an answer to, give them one! Try not to be like this figure in the 2 of Swords tarot card. Look how they are keeping their self closed off with two swords in their hands. This person is keeping people away. They are not opening up and being communicative. Try not to be that way. Don’t push other people away when they need something from you. Be open and honest. If they ask you a question and you don’t have an answer, just say you don’t have the answer. Don’t make them guess if you know what you are talking about or not. The 2 of Swords piece of you may want to push others away, but try to resist that. Sometimes people really do need to know what you think and what you know. Don’t let the 2 of Swords keep them from hearing you. If you have a decision to make, make it! Commit to it! Don’t say one thing one minute, and another thing the next. Stick to you decision! — Jim Larsen

Two of Swords: Be Open

2 of Swords Tarot Card: Consider what others have to say too

The 2 of Swords is reminding you today to be open. Listen to what others have to say. Their ideas  and opinions count too. In the words and ideas of others, there is benefit to you, even if you do not right away see it, so listen to them and take to heart what they share. Blend your ideas with their ideas to create a much greater new idea that takes into account a number of viewpoints. In this way, many considerations are factored in to whatever the situation is, and important details are less likely to be overlooked. Do not assume that you have the complete whole answer to a situation. The Two of Swords reminds you to be open to what others think, know, and believe as well. — Jim Larsen

2 of Swords: Suffer Foolish People

two speculation copy

2 of Swords Tarot Card: Be patient with others

The 2 of Swords Tarot Card will ask, are you having one of those days where you really do not want to hear from other people? Do want to do things your own way, think your own thoughts, and not have to care what other people think? It’s okay if you are.  If that’s how you are feeling, try to at least be tactful about it. Even if you plan to do your own thing no matter what these other people have to say, be polite about it.

Be patient and listen to what they have to say. Make them feel valued. Then try to get through to them what your feelings on the matter are and why you would prefer to do it your own way. There is no reason to start an argument or a fight over something petty. So, be mindful of this and do your best to suffer foolish people graciously.

Page of Swords: Level-Headed Truth

Page of Swords

Page of Swords Tarot Card: Speak the Absolute Truth

The Page of Swords tarot card says, “You’ve heard that expression, ‘From the mouths of babes…'” Consider the innocence here. Consider this unfiltered, unconcerned truth. There is no ego here. There are no projections. There is no need to be right to make another wrong. The speaker is not trying to be smarter or better that anybody else. The speaker is simply communicating what is obvious. There is nothing but clear, level-headed truth.

Today, give this a try. Try speaking the absolute truth as you see it. Who knows? Maybe it needs to be heard. Maybe the truth will be a wake up call that the hearer needs. Denial and pretending everything is okay when clearly it is not will not serve anybody. Why do that? Elephant in the room? Address it! Get it out in the open so everybody can add their thoughts to it. “From the mouths of babes…” Go ahead and be that babe today.  Do it.

2 of Swords: Do You Really Care?

2 of Swords: Talk to the Hand

The 2 of swords tarot card says, sometimes, don’t you just want to say “Talk to the hand?” People are coming at you, running their mouths, expecting you to listen to what they have to say, expecting you to care. But do you want to listen? Would you rather  be alone with your own thoughts than to listen to this blow-hard prattle on?  Do you really care what they are talking about? Is it just another story about what their granddaughter did?  Is it a request? Are they asking you to do something they could just as easily do their self? Are they asking you what time it is, when they could just as easily look at the clock on the wall for themselves?

Today may be that kind of a day. Of course, you need to be polite, or should be at least. It isn’t always appropriate to put your hand up and tell them to be quiet. You really can’s say “Would you just shut up!” to anybody. So what can you do? Tolerate them as bet you can then slip away. If possible, avoid these people altogether today. This will give you peace, and you are entitled to peace. This is the message for today from the 2 of swords.
