A dark night of the soul is one of the most painful and difficult things to endure, yet one of the most beneficial to your enlightenment. Sometimes, this can be thought of as a Tower, in the Tarot sense of the word. Think of all the hurt and pain and sorrow you have experienced as still being with you, taking physical form and taking up physical space within you. With a Dark night of the Soul, you have the chance to dissolve these forms. You have the opportunity to seriously look at these forms and identify them for what they are, and deal with them in a constructive way. Experience them each fully and they dissolve. The space within that this form was now becomes vacant and the empty feeling can be jarring and uncomfortable.

The trick now is to fill it with something positive and productive. Imagine pure white light filling these empty spaces. Imagine this as healing and vibrant energy. This energy is the opposite of the heavy and solid energy of the sadness it replaces. It is light and buoyant. Without the heaviness that was just there, you are not stuck on the ground, mired in the stagnant muck of despair. No, you are free and light and can now ascend and fly.

So fly. Ask your spirit where it wants to go and let it lead the way. Don’t tether your spirit to the ground with any more weighty concerns. Set your spirit free and let it fly. Don’t let your mind dictate where your spirit will go. Let your mind follow. Your spirit will fly towards enlightenment. You just need to let it. So the sooner you experience your Dark Night of the Soul, the sooner your spirit can fly. The sooner your spirit flies, the sooner you find your truth and enlightenment. Why put it off for fear?

To experience this Dark Night of the Soul is painful. Pain is a fearful thing. It is easy to run from it and to hide from it. When you run and hide from it, you don’t receive the benefits of it. So find the courage and the fortitude and face a Dark Night of the Soul head on. This is what it means to face the Tower of Tarot head on.
