The Chariot: Course Correct As You Go

The Chariot Tarot Card: Make a decision and stick to it

The Fool’s Path Chariot Card

When pondering life’s meaning and purpose, it is beneficial to meditate on the Chariot tarot card. People often speak of figuring out their life. This is well and good, but for the most part, these people are thinking way too much about it and are therefore needlessly complicating the process. The one and only true trick to figuring out your life is to make a decision about doing something and sticking to it! Your life is going to go off in some new direction no matter what decision you make.

The trick is to get out of your rut by getting your life going in some direction or other. Whatever direction it goes, you can make adjustments and alterations to the course once you have movement and gather momentum. The trick is to get this movement started so you can see where these adjustments are that need to be made. It’s that simple. So when considering such things, remember that the Chariot card is about taking control of your own life, of making for yourself the decisions that propel your life in the direction it needs to go. It is about self-empowerment, so let it remind you that you do have the power and the ability. All you need to provide is the motivation. DO IT!

The Fool of Tarot and your Inner Child

The Fool Tarot Card

The Fool As Your Inner Child

Consider the fool card as a representation of your inner child. Now ask yourself, what can hurt this being? What can wound one’s inner child? There is no one simple answer to this. A few things that may do this are a dashing of hope, a placement of limitation, a sense of separation and abandonment. Remember, we are perfect. We are born knowing what the world should be. We are intimately aware of oneness. It is though, the harsh realities of life on earth, of having the indignities of the ego thrust upon us that we lose sight of these things.

These things, however, are not fully gone. They are simply covered over by blankets that hide the truth, the light. Over time, this light is hidden, but on a deeper level not completely forgotten. This light still shines; however muted it may be by all these layers.

Over time, we begin to question the life of the ego that we are embroiled in. We begin to examine these blankets and question their validity. One by one, we begin to remove these layers, peeling them away, one and then the next and the next until we uncover that light of truth of who we are.

When we are born, we are still very aware of our team of divine helpers and the fact that we have a mission and a purpose on the earth. Because we know it, we assume that those in our life know it too. It confuses us that they do not act as though they know it. They seem to act in ways that are counterproductive to achieving their purpose. They ignore the help and guidance offered by the divine helpers. This is confusing. These people are our caregivers. Because we rely on them so heavily, they must know the truth, know what’s best.

Their thoughts and ideas become our own. We are now enculturated. We are now a part of our society. Slowly our awareness of the divine truth of ourselves gives way to the projections of society. Now we are what society needs us to be and what it expects of us. Now the burden of rediscovering our truth is on us, should we take on the task. But is it a burden?

The peeling away of these blankets to get back to that core light can be both thrilling and exciting, can it not be? The process of discovering, the process of stumbling upon answers and then figuring out the question that fits it can instigate a journey like no other. This can be thrilling! What do we learn of ourselves and of society if we do not go through this process of discovery? This is what it means to incarnate and be present on the earth. In this way, we achieve balance. We achieve balance between our divine self and our earthly self. What we learn on the earth becomes our soul. This soul, and its knowledge and wisdom contribute to the knowingness of all beings of the universe. This is The Silence. This creates a universal strength. In the reality of oneness, the wisdom of one is the wisdom and strength of all.

When the fool card comes up for you in a reading, consider this. Where are you on the path of personal discovery? Do you understand yourself? Do you have a sense of why you are here? If not, what don’t you understand? Consider you talents, your desires, your ambitions. These are your guide markers. These tell you what direction to head. By following your desires and pursuing your talents, you achieve your purpose. These things keep your inner child alive, well, happy, content, and blissful. A happy inner child is a productive inner child, for he/she is intimately aware of your life’s purpose and will keep you pointed in its direction. Honor your inner child. He/she deserves it.

Lovers Tarot Card : Perception and Subjection

Love is your perception of it

“Love” is but a perception. It is a perception of perfection, which of course is entirely subjective. It is a subjective perception of how we perceive the divine. Be mindful of what this means to you. It is contingent upon your birth vision, that is to say, what you incarnated on the earth to achieve. Love is felt when we feel supported in this endeavor. When we encounter another being on the planet that supports our intentions we feel love.

We feel a connection. We each have a spark of the divine in us. This spark is the fire of our passion, our mission, our true essence. We seek out others, whether consciously or not, whose spark is of the same frequency as our own. When we find them, we feel that their spark touches our spark. This gives a sense of oneness. We discover that through them, our spark intensifies. It adds fuel that creates a stronger burning of our inner fire. We desire this more. We want to be in the energetic and spiritual field of this person.

We sense that our own energy is adding to the fuel of their own spark, their own fire. It is not a drain to us. It feels right and it feels real. In this way, love is a synergy of giving and taking energy. Energy in this way begets more energy. Love is to fuel another’s spark. Sometimes this fuel comes in the simple manner of showing support. Let this other (other aspect of yourself in a separate human form) know that they are valid and vital.

It is common to feel separate from others based on our individual missions and the individual path this mission has put us on. To encounter another who is obviously on our path with us and who understands what it means to be on this path is to be fueled with powerful energy. This energy is love. Whatever we can do by way of validation and support of another in achieving their birth vision is love. The more selfless this is given, the stronger the energy of it is.

Therefore, try making a kind act about the receiver. Do not make it about you by expecting something in return. By expecting something in return for a kind act you offer, you only dull down or deaden the effects of it. Express true love by expecting nothing in return. Expecting something in return will degrade the gratitude process of the one who offers the gratitude. Accept their gratitude without qualifying it with demands.

Accept but do not expect. By doing this, you enhance the sense that the other will experience of love. Now they are energized. This energy will carry them forward. This energy will enable ripples to go forth into the universe. These ripples will go forth into the universe and touch and effect more and more and more. In this way, it will be returned to you. Will you identify it as coming from the person you effected? You should not try to identify it as such. Do not have an expectation. Just accept what you receive and be grateful for its acceptance.

This is a product of the synergy that you yourself helped bring about. This is why we must show kindness to others. Appreciate those you love, but show love to all. We are all a piece, a part of a much greater whole. There are those who share with us a certain aspect of this whole. These are the ones we are naturally and magnetically drawn to. These are the ones who we will “fall in love with.” These are the ones we will most want to enhance and support. But this does not mean dismiss and ignore all others. Show respect and appreciation for all.

Many on the earth misunderstand love. They mislead their designation of it with mind felt, ego-centered obsessions out of fear. They will mentally choose a person. They will declare this person as the one they are “in love with” but this person is not on their path. Their paths do not support one another, but their minds will not accept this. They feel that because their mind has declared it, it must be perfect and true, for they dwell in their minds.

Their ego is what propels them, not their hearts, not their spark or their fire. This is detrimental. This creates a ripple effect of disharmony. Now, they are depriving their self the opportunity to express love for one that is on their path and supports their birth vision. In so doing, they are also hindering the other in doing the same. And what of the others out there who are truly on the path of them or the other they are obsessed with? They too are being slowed down and/or denied of what can and should be ultimately beneficial to them.

In an ideal and perfect sense, this will right itself, as the tower situation it creates tumbles and collapses. But the mind and the ego can be a powerful effector in this. In the light of fear, it will not let go or release. This will slow down the process of growth and evolution for those involved. When love is right, you know it. When it is not right, you know it. When you know it, accept it. Let it go if it is not real. Release it. Support your own growth and the growth of others by not clinging to what is false. When the lovers card comes up for you in a reading, ask yourself does this person or this situation truly enhance my path in life? Do I support its? Be honest with your answer, and accept it if it is not exactly what you wanted to discover.

Magician Tarot Card: No Mere Illusion

The Magician of Tarot: Perceiving what is lacking

The Fool’s Path Tarot: Magician

Magic is anything above and beyond the earthly and mundane. This is not mere illusion. Illusions are just that- illusions. They represent trickery and manipulation of perception, sometimes for entertainment, sometimes not. This is not to be confused with magic. Magic is a force of the divine as perceived by us in earthly  form.

A magician is one who can tap into those divine forces and bring them to the earthly plane of existence. It is all in the asking. It is all in knowing how to ask. It is all about being heard. Speak to the divine from the heart. This is how they hear. They know by scanning our hearts, which hold our true intentions. Put your sincere desires in your heart and they will be heard. Ask from your heart and you shall receive. A true magician knows this.

A true magician is wise. Wisdom and manifestation are joined. Manifestation stems from the desire for what is lacking. How though, can you know what is lacking without knowledge of the whole? You see what is missing. You know what is not there. This is the root of desire- to manifest that which is lacking. This is wisdom.

Wisdom is to have the truth in your heart of what is entire and what is whole. Once examined, once a scan of the entirety is complete, one can see the gaps and the missing pieces. Now what is lacking is known. Now manifestation can happen. A desire to fill these gaps is the manifestation of manifestation. This is the gift of any true magician.

The magician card of tarot reminds us that we have the power of magic. We need only to remind ourselves of this power. We are not alone in the universe. We each have many guides and helpers supporting our earthly mission. They are willing, ready, and on standby to provide us  with what we ask for. We just need to ask. Simple as that.

Knight of Pentacles Tarot Card: Confidence

Knight of Pentacles Tarot Card: You have the ability to achieve anything

Self-assurance. Confidence. Faith in your own abilities. The ability to transcend limitations and blocks. Keep these things in mind when considering the knight of pentacles. Tap into that power. You have it in you. Remember that. You have the ability to achieve, and you know this. Sometimes though, certain things get in the way and maybe you forget. But when the knight of pentacles shows up in a reading, remember.

When you think of knights, do you imagine somebody who gives up? Somebody who says, “It’s too difficult. I can’t do it?” Unlikely. Knights inspire images of people doing whatever it takes to accomplish their goals. They are the alpha dogs, the go-getters, the doers. Conjure that knight within you. Tap into that determined energy and let nothing stop you. Get it done. Do it.

Be sure of yourself, and nothing can stop you. Things may slow you down, sure. That’s what happens in life. But true power and strength is to get past them, get around, go over them, tunnel under them- whatever it takes to get on the other side of it and leave it behind you. Let confidence be your guiding light. You are a powerful being. Use your power!

Let “confidence” be your key word. There is no time for self-doubt. There is no room for negative thoughts degrading your self-image. You know what you are capable of. You know what you want to achieve, so do it. Why ruin a good thing with negativity? Don’t allow for it. Silence the voices of doubt with measurable accomplishments. You are capable of such things. Do them boldly and without hesitation.

When the knight of pentacles comes up for you in a reading, remember to tap into your power. Use this power to overcome obstacles and blast through limitations. When feeling limited or stuck, ask yourself, “What would somebody who is not concerned with blockages do?” Then imagine the blocks in your path simply evaporating. Poof! Dissipated like steam from a cup of coffee. This is the power of the knight of pentacles, and it is your power too. We are, each of us, limited only to the extent that we create limits for ourselves. So, if you dissolve these blocks, these limits, they cannot hinder you.

Do you want to be slowed down? Do you want to live your life based on what you cannot do, or do you want to be able to do anything at all? You can, you know, do anything at all. Remember, “confidence” is your key word. Let it be your mantra. In so doing, you are a true knight of pentacles.

The Emperor Tarot Card: A Father Figure

The Emperor Tarot Card: A Role Model

When considering the Emperor tarot card, think of somebody who is an authority figure, a rule maker. This is a quality of this card, no doubt. At the same time though, think beyond the concept that this card represents an authority figure and rule maker. Yes, this card does conjure images of power. This is most certainly somebody who is in charge and in control of a situation. It brings to mind a person who is looked up to and respected. It is easy to think of this card as being about the person in charge. But there is more to it than that. Being in charge can mean more than mere authority. Dig deeper in your thoughts of this card. See it as more than these things. See it not just as a power-figure, but as somebody who genuinely cares. This can be somebody who is in a position to use his/her power to genuinely and positively affect another person’s life.

Think about the fatherly qualities of the emperor. What brings out the quality of nurturing in you? What are you doing when you feel you are doing the best for another person, somebody who genuinely appreciates and needs you? How do you genuinely enhance the growth and wellbeing of others? What are you doing when you feel you are making the most difference? This is just as important when considering the qualities of a rule maker, boss, or authority figure. The emperor can also be thought of as a father and/or father figure. This is somebody who is looked up to and depended on. This is somebody who is doing his/her best on behalf of those he/she cares about.

When the emperor card comes up for you in a reading, ask yourself in what way you are looked up to? Consider how you are doing your best on the behalf of another’s highest good. Be completely honest with yourself and ponder what more you can do. What more can you do to make another’s life as good as it can be? What wisdom and experience can you share? How can the life you have lived, are living, create security and wellbeing for those you care about? Take stock of those who look up to you, admire you, and depend on you. Take this into consideration and realize that you are a role model. Take this seriously. There are so many simple things you can do to enhance the life of those around you. Let the emperor card remind you of this and inspire you to be a strong role model.

A True Hermit is Nobody’s Demographic

The Hermit Tarot Card: True Authenticity

In consideration of tarot, a true hermit is nobody’s demographic. This is a person who is completely comfortable living outside of the media’s influence. Think about it. When you are not told what to like, what to think, what to eat, what to drink, how you should look, what you should wear, what you should listen to, what you should watch, then who do you become? When you are not consumed with the thought forms of mass media and the marketing strategies of business men, who are you? Who is the authentic person beneath it all? Can you define your spirit? Can you identify your spark? Just how much of whom you are is determined by the marketers?

It can be disappointing being in a society that is obsessed with conformity, when you yourself are focused on authenticity. Society says do this. Society says get married. Have children. Make sure you go to a bar and get drunk frequently. Watch football on TV. Watch basketball. Care about who wins the World Series. Feel a sense of emotional investment in who wins the Super Bowl or wins an Oscar. Have you had a McRib lately? The powers that be at McDonalds would really like you to, and will hound you until you do.

You’re a “normal” member of society, right? You bought the newest IPad, yes? You have followed the media’s conditioning and know you absolutely cannot live without one, haven’t you?

These are the thing you are “supposed” to do. Society wants you to buy its beer and get drunk. Numb your mind. Don’t ask questions. Accept unconditionally everything that is thrown your way. Have a Coke and a smile. Don’t try too hard to have a real conversation. It’s easier and more satisfying to rely on small talk. Simply repeat buzzwords. “What are you doing this weekend?” Does it really matter? Do you really care? Empty puffs of air. Senseless excretion of energy.

Save your words until they add up to something substantial. Keep it sincere. Just say “Hello.” Say it with sincerity from the heart that indicates you truly appreciate seeing the person you are saying it to. Aim for sincerity of words over quantity. This is important. Keep it in mind. Small talk is the clip art of conversation. Are you content to follow the programming set forth by those long forgotten? Small talk is nothing more than a program to be followed. It has limited value, if any at all. Break free of this innocuous time waster.

Strive for authenticity. Be a true hermit. Meditate. Go within. Who are you really when you are not following the programs that society creates? What are you really craving? Is it a McRib? Or is it tilapia? If you’re craving tilapia, pay no heed to the last McDonalds commercial you saw, and find yourself a fish restaurant. It really is that simple. Authenticity has become a lost art in the age of media influence. Be part of the renaissance that brings it back to the mainstream.

Turn off your TV. Turn off your radio. Ignore those popup ads on the internet. Don’t be told what to do, what to think, or what you can’t live without. You already know the real answers to these questions. The answers you find within are way more meaningful than what a marketer will provide for you. This is what it means to be a true hermit.

When the hermit card comes up for you in a reading, consider your authenticity. Are you marching to the beat of your own drummer, or are you simply a lemming following somebody else’s interests, allowing them to profit from your indecision? Be authentic. Be real. Be true to yourself. Embrace the hermit quality you possess and be your own demographic.

What’s Tarot Got to do with It?

Master Tarot

Do you evolve or simply grow older?

The Fool’s Path Tarot Tower card

What is The Tower Point and Why is it Important?

Do you evolve, or do you simply grow older? Do you process the lessons of your life and become a stronger, wiser person from them, or do you repeat the same patterns even though they add to a sense of discontentment? Do you find empowerment in what you have been through, or do you feel a sense of victimization? Do you seek to overcome adversity or do you wallow in self-pity? Do you rely on the same buzz words and catch phrases on and on or do you let go of the old and make room for the new thoughts and new ideas?

To evolve is to open to growth, to embrace new concepts and new ideas. To evolve is to release the old and make room for the new. You will not evolve by remaining stuck in the past, remaining stuck in old pains. This is the opposite of evolution. This is stagnation. To evolve is to know when to let go and move on. Stagnation is to refuse to let go, refuse to move on. Stagnation is to reach the Tower Point and remain there, to hold onto the rubble and refuse to let go.

Imagine the tower as a destination. This is a place of enlightenment. This is a place where all the lies you have been led to believe about yourself have manifested as physical energy. Your endeavor now is to get beyond it. Every lie you believe about yourself is a block that imprisons your truth. Your truth is what you are actually capable of, actually meant for. Perhaps though, you have denied these because they didn’t fit the paradigm of the lie you have been living. Eventually these lies will catch up to you and your truth will want to shine. This is the Tower Point. This is where you either find the courage to face these lies, or shrink from the opportunity to do so and continue you live in the paradigm of lies. To face them takes courage. To face them means to liberate yourself from them, no matter the pain involved. It also means to be free of them.

Evolution is to reach the Tower Point and to go beyond it, to leave the rubble of the tower behind. Personal evolution is enlightenment. Enlightenment is to have your light liberated from its prison cell atop the tower and finally allow it to shine freely. When your light is liberated, allow it to shine. Don’t rebuild the tower. Why put your light back in its cell?

Your light is a spark. Coax it into a flame. Keep the flame burning. Feed the flames with your passions and that which truly brings you joy and happiness. Feed the flames with your bliss so that it grows and grows. Let this flame become a fire. Coax this fire into an inferno. Let it spread. Encourage it to spread in the wind. Let it start numerous other fires that in turn will become infernos. As you create your fires, your infernos, you encourage others to do the same. You become the inspiration.

Perhaps in your light, they will find the courage to move beyond their own stagnation and to liberate their own light from their cells atop their own towers, and in turn will coax their light to flame to an inferno. In this way, we all evolve. We all evolve as individuals as well as a species.

Evolving as individuals has the benefit of expanding consciousness. We become aware of the perfection and the beauty in many things. Expand that to the evolution of the entire species where each individual member of the species wakes up to their own perfection. Imagine that they realize their own perfection and own inspirations and pursue these without the distractions that others dump on them. Imagine the perfection of the world if everybody would simply get out of their head and into their heart and accept what they find in the tower at the Tower Point. This is the evolution of the human species. It is what we are headed towards. As we move beyond our personal towers, we perfect ourselves. As we perfect ourselves, we perfect the species. As we perfect ourselves, the planet becomes a better and better place to be. It becomes a better and better place to be because it is now inhabited by enlightened beings living their truth with the rubble of their lies behind them. That’s all it takes to for the species to evolve. It really is that simple.

Why become a tarot card reader?

There is much benefit to learning how to read tarot cards.

Perhaps you have thought about how interesting it would be to learn how to read the images on tarot cards, but thought, “No. It’s not for me. You have to have special talents and abilities to do that.” The truth is, anybody wanting to learn to read tarot cards can learn to read tarot cards. What does it take? It takes nothing but the desire to do so.

Why become a tarot card reader? What benefit will this bring to you? Have you ever asked yourself this? The answers are simple and to the point. By understanding the meanings of tarot cards, you understand what it means to be fully human. Consider tarot to be less about dogmatic practices of reading and more about understanding the human spirit through interpreting it through the archetypes. The archetypes represent a blueprint of the spirit.

With each card being a part of the overall picture, blueprint of the human soul, then the card you draw exemplifies how a certain situation or time will affect you. Each archetype is a piece of the puzzle. The picture? What does it show? The human spirit, the human soul. With each archetype being an aspect of who we are and what we experience, individually and collectively on the planet. Therefore, mastering the lesson of each and every individual archetype is to master what it means to be human. Mastering the archetypes, each and every one of them is to master humanity, because now you have a label and an understanding of each feeling, each aspect of what it means to be human. This is incredibly empowering. This is incredibly healing. This is also an opening to intuition and empathy. Each card has a story to tell us about our self. Pick a card. What is the story this card can tell you?

For example, consider the meaning of 5 of cups. It generally represents disappointment and sadness. Now, with or without the card, when you feel this way, you can say to yourself, “Ah! I’m having a five of cups experience. That’s all it is. It will pass.” By defining it, you can remind yourself that everybody on the planet goes through this. Everybody. By defining it, too, you can resolve it. What is the resolution, for you, for disappointment?

Consider also the 8 of cups. This generally represents walking away from a situation. It’s simply time to call it quits and be done with it. This is human. It is part of life. By allowing this card to remind you that this is a part of life, it can make it easier to face it when you know you must.

Consider each card this way. Appreciate the lesson it has for the shared human experience. By doing so, you will understand the circumstances of your own life on a much greater level, as well as developing empathy for others in what the circumstances are of their life. This empathy is what will make you a great tarot card reader. This is what people will thank you for.

In understanding the blueprint of the human spirit through tarot cards, one of the great gifts you will get is compassion for others. You understand that to you, their questions may not have relevance to you and your life, but to them, the questions are of significance and important. You as the reader know the direction they would like the reading to take, to affirm a belief about themselves or a hope they have.

But what if the reading goes the other directions? When it supports their hopes, it is easy to tell them the news. But when it does not, you must tell them your intuitions as best you can without crushing them. They have faith and trust in you. They are with you for answers. They are not with you to be let down or hurt. So, you the reader develop the skill of relaying the messages with sincerity, honesty, and with the skill for turning what they may consider negative into something positive and affirming. This is a gift that reading tarot gives you that you should strive to take to other aspects of your life.

There are a number of benefits to becoming a tarot card reader. Understanding the human spirit as a puzzle with each card being but one piece of this puzzle is a great one. It helps you to understand yourself as well as understanding what humans really are.

The Double Oh Fool Guide to Tarot Mastery

What’s Tarot Got to do With It?

The Pieces of You Tarot

World Card of Tarot: Ready for the Next Journey

You have come a long ways on your journey. Now keep going.

The World Tarot Card

The world card in tarot denotes accumulation. When considered sequentially, pay attention to the fact that it is the final card. If life is a journey, if the purpose of life is to learn and to grow, if we look at life as a series of destinations and plateaus to be reached, then when the world card comes up in a reading it is meaningful to consider it as achievement. It denotes that you have arrived. Your goals have been achieved. Pat yourself on the back and reflect on the journey. Go over the ups and downs and the highs and the lows. What brought you to this point in life? Sometimes it was easy and sometimes it was difficult. Sometimes the lessons were obvious, other times not. Be that as it may be though, they are what brought you to where you are so it was all good.

We search. We know we are meant for something. Sometimes though, we ask, “What exactly would that be? What exactly am I meant for?” And so we seek an answer to this very profound yet basic question. We try things. We examine things. We figure out what exactly feels right to us and then we compare. We decide what is truly meaningful and important to us. If we are wise, we realize the answer and we latch onto it. We nurture it. We make it grow. This feels right to us. This is our purpose. This is a big reason why we are here. Pay attention to this. What in your life truly feels right and perfect? The world card invites you to examine and appreciate this.

There is satisfaction in achieving a goal. These goals are not arbitrary. They do, in so many ways, define who we are. These goals are our passions. They exist in our heart. They are attached to our soul. We dedicate ourselves to it. We strive and we work for it. And then… at last… we achieve it. It is an accumulation of effort and simple dedication. Now, we can enjoy the results of these efforts. Now we have shifted our own personal paradigm. Now, we are not defined as somebody “trying” but as somebody who has “achieved.” This achievement gives us a new sense of solid ground to stand on. We now have a firm foundation. From this new plateau, where will we go next? Based on our successes, what is next?

With the world card, we are ready for the next journey. It is time to take the success, wisdom, and knowledge we have amassed and go in a new direction with it. Considered sequentially, it is time to begin again at zero. It is time to be a fool again. We are stronger, wiser and more powerful. Our leaps of faith are more calculated and thought through. What direction does our heart tell us to go now? It is time to listen and follow. When the world comes up in a reading, consider this.
